[RP]Azureus in Hastings - White Ermine

Azureus

Azureus docked his ship safely to the port. Harbour workers tied up his ship and helped his crew to unload some of his cargo. Azureus watched this work from the deck but soon concentrated fully on his papers. He scribbled quite a bit and occasionally struck through his markings and shook his head rapidly. Once or twice he even counted with his fingers which he usually denied right away when someone pointed it out to him.

Unloading was finally done but the harbour workers seemed to stick around. Azureus looked them for a bit and they seemed quite impatient and whispered among themselves. Azureus didn't pay much attention for them and continued on scribbling his paper until he finally stood up and went to pay them for their work. Workers seemed quite unsatisfied althought Azureus gave them quite a good payment for their short work. Maybe they wanted some more because Azureus had kept them waiting and which they did. Azureus shook his head and replied with his quite funny sounding accent that he wouldn't give any more money for them. Slowly the workers turned around when he stared with his quite severe looking gaze which was usually enough for him to win lesser disagreements. People usually tend to let it be when someone looks them with only one eye and when a beautifully long scar over the other one is making them feel unpleasant.

Azureus wasn't blaming the workers though. It was a business after all.

Azureus headed to the market with his cargo. He had some furnitures to sell which were made by some of the finest carpenters in the Finland. He knew the furnitures weren't anykind of special and the people here would make the same kind of furnitures and be as skilled as them but that was his catchphrase. Sometimes his selling were bought from somewhere else but he still insisted them to be from his homecountry. Most of them were but people wouldn't seem to noticed the difference or they didn't just dare. Propably because of the scar again. On the other hand Azureus it did make him look more confident but at the same time it characterised himself quite much. And of course he didn't like it when it hurted which it still did occasionally.

Azureus rubbed his scar and then tried to gently whisk the pain off but it didn't work as he thought. Finally his cargo was set on market and be ready to sell. Azureus opened up his ledger and made the final decisions for the prices. Then he greeted some customers with a smile and a funny sounding accent.

He opened his ledger again and started to work with the numbers once more. He was going to leave Hastings in few days and was looking forward to sell these last products on the market. "Jos tuota laskisin hieman... mutta entäs viini... Maksoin kyllä niin suuren hinnan siitäkin, että en voi kyllä laskea sitä enempää*", he grumbled himself but no one asked what he was saying. He didn't lower the prices much but only just enough to make some of the goods more desirable for the customers. Just an illusion. As like many things were on trading business.

I am looking for botanists and sculptors as well as carpenters and blacksmiths who are willing to make furnitures or decorations for houses and gardens. Contact me if you have some products laying in your inventory or if you are going to make some so I can pick them up when I next time dock at Hastings. Or anyone can contact me if you have some interesting up for trade!

Translation:
* "If I lower that... but how about the wine... I paid quite a penny for that so I can't go any lower...."

Azureus packs lasts of his products to his ship. He got no help from the port workers since they happened still to be quite unhappy about his last payment. Usually the workers offer themselves freely whenever they see avaible work at the port but this time no one showed up. Azureus even tried to look for few of them but he saw from their expressions that they didn't want to help. Azureus laughed a bit and mumbled: "Tän siitä ilmeisesti saa kun on pihi..."

Last box was carried inside the ship. He wiped away some sweat and went to see the harbourmaster. He left a short letter and thanked for the hospitality and hoped to come back to the port later. He had previously sent a letter to the mayor and thanking the same thing in that letter as well.

He boarded the ship and untied the ropes.
