Acantha

Langue maternelle Anglais:

A small broken slim body of a Scot's woman lay tattered in a random poor man's shack, where she had been left to die, after coming lifeless floating into the Port of Gien.

Her long blonde hair clung even when dry, from her time floating in the river back to this place where she had began. She had felt forced to come, by the government of this land, and even on arrival felt threatened, and forced to hastily escape into heavens waters.

Waters impossible for any man to own, but only owned by nature itself. As it is only in one land for so long, before it moves on to another land. Water is meant to be a gift, enjoyed and pleasured, not owned or controlled. It is safety, and freedom, it is what brought her to France to escape the repressive laws and people of her own native Scotland.

She had been very full with her child inside when she rushed on the ship. Traveling along the ports of the river to the sea, desperately trying to find a place to dock, but being refused repeatedly, over some taxes from the previous ship owner had accrued. Acanthan didn't own the ship very long at all, she didn't even know the previous owner, and now she lost all her strength, her unborn child, her weapon, all her food, and was filthy straining her natural beauty while she slowly opens her eyes, if only briefly, before the ugliness of the world forces them to close again.

"You ill-nurtured wagtail!"

Langue maternelle Anglais:

From behind a elder tree, appears the most solid of green eyes. Long blond locks of hair falling freely just below this finely features Scotswoman. The finger tips of a single hand grip hesitantly into the trunk of of the tree. Just before her the exit she had been wanting. Her bare feet firmly settle into the very cold grass. A body only just recovered from the injuries sustained by this province who tricked her into their lands, only just to cut her up, ending the life of her unborn child. Firm scars lay along her torso, two of the most notable were just above each of her bosom, and slightly to the sides. The scars obvious of a traumatic entry of the provinces weapons into her flesh when they massacred her.

Only for a few crowns from a former boat captain that had been accrued, and not of Acan's own accruing! No fault or expense of her own Acan's life was nearly removed completely, but a life was lost. For Acan staying in this place was like this was like a stay in hell now.

She waited for one of the drunken guards to begin to waver into slumber. As the guard relaxed more she grew more tense! Only wanting to leave this place, and return home! When the guards head suddenly dropped down, Acan suddenly sprang forward with her limited strength, rushing for the gate, and her home! Not a scream, or sound would she make, except the sound of each of her bare feet upon the muddy path. Her blond hair her own personal flag of freedom flying behind her. Noting a attempt to freedom, and great need for her husband!

Her husband had been denied coming to be with her, and she denied leaving, but love wouldn't be controlled by the dis-justice served to Acantha by d'Orleans! Her heart pounded as she passed the lightly slumbering guard, but just as she thought she finally escaped, she was abruptly stopped!

An arm from no where had reached out, grabbing her around her waist. So hard the two collided, her feet continued on until they ran up in the air, and Acantha struggled only against this armored arm clawing for her freedom. The young private of the guards to the provincial crown would say,

"Retour donzelle vous!!" (Back you wench!)

With little effort the private would throw Acan back into the gate, Acantha landed on her moon upon the muddy path. A clear growl of anger now emanating from her.

"You ill-nurtured wagtail!"

Acantha would growl while rolling over to her knees, pulling herself back up with pride, that shouldn't exist! Going back to her own camp in the trees near the lake. Where she spent all her days, to avoid working in any mines or churches for who she considered criminals.Where she has a lovely pot with burning candle waiting for her.

She would continue to wait for word from Jean to her freedom being hers again. Her only hope in these endless dark hours of being kept a hostage in d'Orleans.

Langue maternelle Anglais:

Many days have passed for Acantha. Each day was just the same. Beginning in the early mornings with Acantha trying to escape. Acantha having always been stopped, thrown back, and than Acantha going back to her camp.

Once while in a camp a delivery that was tied to a rock managed to find Acantha right up side the side of her temple. Lucky for Acantha the letter attached was thick enough to help protect Acantha from the rocks edges. Still Acantha would sport a small bruise on her temple for a couple of days.

The letter that was attached would be from the hand of Jean. Giving Acantha the local counties official permission to travel. Acantha was finally freed, but much to her confusion and dismay. Poor Acantha wouldn't be so lucky.

By the heavens this poor girl had such horrible luck! Acantha filled with confidence and pride would again strut up to the city gate, no sneaking or planning, and she would present this letter with great confidence to the local militia.

Acantha wouldn't even wait! She would just begin pushing straight to her escape, but to her horrible luck the local militia prevented her! It would take poor Acantha two more days before she was truly free! At times growing so frustrated she just leaned facing the city wall, and banged her forehead on it over and over. There was nothing else she could do!

Time passed by so slowly, before finally Acantha had enough. Changing her attempt for the first time. Acantha left in the late hours of night. With a veil of darkness as her protection! Acantha had climbed the walls of the city, and just scaled over to the other side.

Not a peep out of any one would find her! When her feet landed on the other side, Acantha stood there, almost as if waiting to be thrown right back in. She looked up the wall, until she couldn't see any further into the darkness. She just waited, but she realized no one had noticed.

With her meager stash of two pieces of bread, and a few pence laying about she had found. There almost as if dropped just for her. Acantha turned and began to run. She ran as fast as she could. When her body ached and complained, she kept running. She was free!

Once she almost reached to the next town, she stopped to examine her situation. A individual only escaped from the imprisonment she had been tricked into. Her hair was a mess, she was covered in scars, not exactly clean and fresh.

Tucking herself behind some bushes, she sat with legs crossed on the earth. Placing her face in her hands, she hid from the world, escaping into her own world, and living a life of hope once more. She then in this state of silence remembered...

What about her eldest daughter, who had been on that ship? Did she survive as well? Where was her daughter? What about her husband Albator? The last news Acantha had, was a letter from him, as he was facing this horrid war! Was he alive? Had any of Acantha's own letters reached him? What about her village? Had it fallen in that attack of the army? Did she even have a home to return to?
