The Colony of Bath

Gregarious
Looks strangely at Ellsbeth

With us? Oh, with each of us I see. Well nothing much has been happening with myself. Trying to hold that Bath SAS together. Trying to be a good bartender and keep the tavern active, mostly without success on both accounts I am afraid.

I've just been named Knight Commander of the Knights of the Realms of England. That was a surprise I must tell you. So I will have to consider stepping down as Lt. I think.

Also, Giangio has tasked me with taking supplies to another town to help them continue to prosper. I will have to be on the road soon I am afraid and will be gone an extended period. I wonder if anyone will remember me when I return...Gregarious laughs.

I am glad you survived your tribulations my friend. And I am more happy that you also found your way home. I know Bath can use every person like yourself to keep her strong and peaceful. Your gonna need to put some meat on yur bones though.

Gregarious smiles at the big Scotsman holding his hand up in front of him.....Stay in your chair my friend I will get the drink..trying to delay the tackle he could see in Sparhawks eyes.
-fromENLevon
Levon exited the Corporal's office of the 4th squad of the SAS, tired from his day's training and reports. Levon was happy to see that his squad at least was getting some activity, which made him want to grab a pint at his favorite watering hole, the Rubber Ducky. Recently being named temporary bartender in Sir Gregarious' stead, Levon frequented the tavern quite often, meeting many new faces and thankfully gaining many people's trust. He started walking towards the corner of town that the taverns sat, when he heard an intriguing sound. Straining his ears to follow the sound, Levon crouched low like an animal stalking it's prey to find the source. Coming to a clearing, Levon spotted a horse drawn wagon with a fat tradesman sitting at the reins. Levon squinted to see whether or not this man was an invader, but quickly realized that there was no danger, and started for the moving cart. Walking into the path of the cart, Levon smiled and raised one hand to slow the wagon to a halt. As the wagon approached, Levon called out, "Greeting traveler. I am Levon Joycors Arundel, Yeoman in the Somerset Armed Services. What brings you to Bath?"

Jovially, the man brought the cart to a stop and waved a chubby hand to Levon. "Greetings to you as well fine neighbor. I am but a humble trader bringing goods from far lands. I must say however, how does my bathing rituals concern an officer of the Armed Forces?"

Levon lowered his arm slowly in confusion. "Uh, yes, cleanliness is highly recommended here in the town of Bath. Please obey the laws and have a pleasant stay here."

Pleasantly brushing off his sleeves of dust from the road and shaking out his traveling hat, the trader smiled a cheeky grin at Levon and said, "Well, I do hope not to upset the likes of the Armed Services here in Bathing town. Now then, is there anything you might be interested in to trade for?"

Levon studied the man for a moment, trying to discern any sinister motives, then spied a strange object sitting on the man's lap. Interested, Levon asked, "What is that you have there sir? Some sort of instrument?"

Looking down into his hands, the trader spotted the object in question, "Why yes, my boy, this is a lute. A kind of instrument for entertainment and merriment. An officer would not be interested in the likes of one of these. Perhaps an enchanted blade or an adamantine shield?"

Still puzzling over the strange artifact, Levon eyed it in wonder. "No, no, I am interested in that instrument. Could you play it for me sir?"

Amused, the trader ceased his bargaining and resigned to Levon's wish. He picked up the dusty lute and assigned his stubby fingers to its strings. As if hearing the music before he played it, the trader closed his eyes and began plucking the instrument in melodic fashion. Sound emanated from the thing and floated to Levon with wisps of hypnotic fancy. Levon stood mesmerized as lyrical tones danced towards and around him, carried on the sweet serenade of the summer wind. And as if snapped out of a trance, Levon blinked as the trader concluded his song. Awakening, Levon's face could not help but to smile as he said, "That is wonderful. I must have it."

After an hour of bartering and rough kicks in the dirt road, Levon finally managed to scurry away with his lute, and being many bags of wheat lighter. Delighted, he hurried to his home to tinker with his new toy. 'On second thought,' Levon mused, and he turned to make his way to Vana's Veggies to show off his marvelous find.

Rebo had fallen asleep atop his trusty and jalopy horse. Luckily for him, the horse knew the way to Bath. His horse carried him to the nearest tree, sat, and fell asleep. The two of them have been on the road for a long time and, apparently, needed a rest.

Well me piggies how are we today

I know, I know I have been gone a long time. I am sorry, but I had duties to preform for Bath and they required I head to Lichfield. Thats six days ride from here you know. Well you could do it faster I suppose but I enjoyed stopping in the towns between here and there.

Do you remember Jill, of course you do don't you my pets, yes ,yes she is the one that fed you while I was last long away from you. Well she is mayor of Lichfield and guess what. She is also now married. Yes she married a man somewhere... They are both from Lichfield, but they snuck away from the town and got married some where else.

Yet another county has been added to the civilized lands of England. Our country is growing by leaps ad bounds. But as it always does, this means friends will be leaving. I will have to redo the squads in the Bath SAS again as we have lost at least one corporal to these new towns. I wish Darell well I am sure he will do well in the new county.

You haven't seen Ellsbeth recently have you? No? Hmmm, me either. Well she is a busy lady for sure. So many duties.

Well I have cut my fill of wood today I think I will take a break. I will earn an honest wage when I sell the wood from my honest days work. But for now a break and a rest. The town is quiet these days. I wonder where everyone has gone.

Gregarious gets a faraway look in his eyes, then smiles sadly at his piggies. Pay me no mind my friends, just the ramblings of an old man who's day has passed.

Eat my friends, grow my pets, make me proud.
Tweetygirl

Gregarious
Gregarious bundles up a basket of oranges and leaves them with a note upon Ellsbeths dark doorstep

Dearest Lady

The world is a dark and comfortless place lately. So again I strap on my armour and head out on the highways. I have another escort request this time in Gloucester.

the memory of our times together will keep my travels warm and pleasant but knowing I will not see you for a time will make the days grey and meaningless.

I do not know what the future holds, I only know the present has been less than I would hope for. I do miss your flashing eyes and your quick smile. The memory of these keeps me moving ahead. I trust you are well and happy.

Until such time as I may return

Your eternally

Gregarious

Gregarious mounts his horse and leads the way, a cart of goods follows close behind. Yet another escort mission, tied into a supply train to the outlaying towns. Good work all, no doubt, but taking him away from his life here. Duty, she could be a rough mistress. But then she was all that some men had.
Scarletwitch36
Scarlet's heart was heavy at having to leave Bristol, Especially at such an eventful moment in her life, but duty called. As she entered the town of bath she found it a charming town. She entered the Town tavern and found Gregarious and various people in the Tavern.

with a smile she greeted everyone.
boy Gregarious you really get around, she teased

She ordered some drinks and in no time with the friendly inhabitants of Bath she found herself drunk singing songs in the tavern.
Gregarious
It's good to see you my friend.

A shame Levon is not about, he would have been happy to accompany the song with "music" from his lute. He really is working hard to figure that instrument out.

So we have a pub crawl in Bristol on the 5th? I hope to join you. Perhaps I will bring a few friends along.
Aishling
Aishling was smiling and humming as she packed her things for her return home. She would never forget Bath. It held a special place in her heart now. She'd met the Mayor, Levan, Badger, Vana and many other citizens in the tavern. They'd talked and laughed and sang. Her evening she'd spent with Fa shi shu left her no doubt of how she felt about him. At one time insecure of herself and about love she knew without a doubt that they loved each other deeply. Aishling put her hat on her head, picked up her bags and looked around the room where she'd stayed. She smiled as she replayed her visit in her mind. Then gently closed the door.

Quote:
Dear Greg,

Thank you so much for your hospitality. I had a wonderful time at our improptu makeover party. Do not worry yourself about rumors, Dralon knows all and he isn't jealous. (He just wishes you wouldn't give me chocolate, he says that's his special gift for me, lol) But thank you for everything. Just in case I do not see you before I depart. Remember to visit us in Bristol.

Your Friend,
Lady Scarlet Octavius

Fa shi shu left the room at the inn and met Aishling downstairs. He was in a state of bliss and his head was in cloud nine. He kissed Aishling on the cheek and gave her a hug...smiling.

Aishling giggled and noted that Fa forgot his bag. Fa shook his head and smiled. “I guess my mind is only thinking of one thing…you. It’s making me a little absent minded.”

Fa ran back up to his room and grabbed his bag. When he returned he leaned in for another kiss and hug. “Come-on. Let’s pick up the horse at the stables and hit the road.”

He gave her a loving peck and they headed out of the Inn with his arm around her waist.
-fromENClasp
Hammering and sawing could be heard from the house of Clasp, located a short way North of town. Born in Bridgewater, Clasp had come to Bath with only one field, hoping to make a living here. She had left both family and friends in Bridgewater, but after six months of living in Bath, she was feeling quite happy. Bath was her home, and she was proud to have it. Prosperity and good company abounded, and she revelled in all of it.

She was just missing one thing.

Working into the late hours of the night, Anna Marie Clasp often worked up a sweat, visiting the local tavern afterwards. A member of the Bath SAS, Killer Ladies Squad, she knew how to defend herself, but most often wanted to do other things, like dance in her fields, or feed the birds that came to her house. Either way, the taverns were the place that she would go to help new people coming to Bath, as she had.

When she reached the door, she noticed a sign posted saying the tavern was closed at this time. Slightly dejected, she headed back to home, donned a beautiful floral dress, and a hood, and made her way to the nearest lake. When she got there, she sat by a tree, and threw some bread she had bought on the market to the ducks.

Gregarious rides into town late in the evening. A well earned rest from duties in the Royal Guard. His right arm in a sling from a "minor" mishap on his last mission.

Looking about he sees the town has settled in for the night. Riding past the road to Ellsbeth's house he pauses for a moment. No smoke from the house can be seen or smelt. Likely she is away on business, no point in paying our respects to an empty house.

Finally arriving at his own house he sees that his piggies seem to be thriving and are well fed.

Well my friends, good to see you again. Everything is as I left it? Nothing interesting happened sine I left? We will have to catch up later. I need to rest now. It is no easy matter riding one armed.

Well me piggies how are we today

I have been to Chard for the first time. They are having a festival there. They had this most amazing game. You take a very large tree and you try to throw it end over end as far as you can. They call it a Cabor Toss. I was lucky enough to win. Best of all I beat Mike Black from Chard and another Lieutenant in the Somerset Armed Service. It was an excellent competition.

I understand that Vana won the poetry competition in Chard. Seems Bath was well represented there. I am not sure they will let us in next time. Gregarious laughs.

Now I am off to enter a jousting competition. I have never been in one before. Wish me luck. I try to uphold the honour of the Knights of the Realms of England in that competition.

Election season is just about upon us. I do not know what will happen. Seems my party will not be entering a list. I have not been invited by any other party and do not have the desire to place my own. I do not have the connections, experience or profile of Lord Hypno, I cannot fight this battle on my own. I would not want to.

Well I am off to the forest to cut me some more Cabors Gregarious winks at his piggies I have to stay in practice if I wish to win again next year.

Eat my friends, grow my pets, make me proud.

Well me piggies how are we today

I was finally at peace. Politics to be set behind me and a fresh new day before me. But then THEY came calling. Reminding me of duty, reminding me of work unfinished, reminding me to not abandon the field.

I told them I was tired, I was not a diplomat, not a politician, just a humble piggie farmer. They would have none of it. I told them my name carries no weight, that I could only harm their chances of success, they were dubious. I then insisted that they place me in the twelfth position on their slate. They would not.

So it seems I head for the battle field one o more time. One last chance to see if I can make a difference or not. Is their another run left in these old bones. Somerset politics will take it out of you quickly.

On a brighter note I competed in my first joust this day passed. I managed to remain horsed for 4 passes I believe before being unseated by Lord Serdan of Scotland. It may have only been three I am unsure at this time as I took a few to many blows to the head I am afraid . But none the less a good start to my career as a jouster I think. In the confusion I seem to have forgotten to take a job today though. Ah well, money has always slipped to easily from my grip.

Off to find a job today I cannot afford to be inactive to long. Or I will not be able to feed you will I my friends?

Eat my friends, grow my pets, make me proud.
