A certain young scotsman, having taken time to look round the general area, arrives and asks where the mounts for the King's party are being stabled. On being told, the young fellow leads his aging mare round to the place mentioned and tethers her near his wife's mount, deciding to leave his helm and shield tied to his saddle. Clad in full plate steel, with the arms of the Knights of the Realms, and the Barony of Corby graven on the breast, he is not in possession this day of his exotic eastern sword, but rather carries a customized short pike. After a long moment of looking about for his wife, the young Knight finally sees her, and strides through the gaily dressed crowd to her side. As he comes near, Seamus gently embraces his bride, so as not to mark her by crushing her 'gainst his armour, and says Apologies darling, fer bein' slow again. I wanteda wee look about. Is His Majesty settled in yet? It could get a wee bit interesting round here once th' lances start bein' raised, yer know.

Seeing his friend Kenrich arrive and seeing him set up camp he approached his friend's tent and talk to him for a few minutes before getting ready himself. As he approached the tent he gave a shout to his friend. Kenrich my friend, it is good to see you here. I didn't know you were signed up to joust as well. I have to say this makes the festival even more interesting. Do you perhaps knows the schedule for the joust or is it going to be a suprise to us all.

Seeing a group of people gathering around a tent as well as more banners and men in armor he raised a eyebrow before pointing over to the group.

Who do you think that is to get all the attention.

Ghostwriter
Ghostwriter hugged her husband back, glad to see him, feeling his armour beneath is livery and smiled at Seamus for being so traditional.

I am glad to see you here my dear, Ghostwriter said glancing round at the melee beginning to grow. She was glad to stand close to Seamus and let him take the knocks and not her. I wasn't sure if you had got caught up with other things so got the young guard here to escort me dear, she said indicating the young man a step away from where they stood and smiled kindly at him, the young man looking uncertain of his charge to protect the Princess Heir. This Ghostwriter had found funny when she thought of the training she had had with her sword.

Let's go and join the King Seamus... he is going to be jousting and I am worried... the risk, Ghostwriter said looking at Seamus, her eyes showing her concern and slight fear. I saw him just beyond this crowd, on his horse before, but I am sure by now he has dismounted dear.

Ghostwriter slipped her hand into Seamus', and looking up tried not to smirk, the nerves starting to get to her as she realised the walk could be awkward with the number of horses and bodies about, the grass becoming quickly a quagmire, glad she had worn boots and not shoes. She tugged to get Seamus to follow, nodding to the young guard to lead the way and hoped none would knock into her, willing Seamus to be quick in his reactions.

At the mention of the King's own person jousting, Seamus' eyes go flat, and he murmurs, I shall squire him myself if you'll tell him.

Cait curtsied before the King and bowed her head. Rising she smiled at him. Your Majesty, since I am not riding in this joust, may I wish you all the best. I will miss the opportunity of possibly unhorsing a King. Cait chuckled. I do hope you have a lady to present you with her favor for your tilt. If not, I'm sure you will find any maid here willing to tie her tribute on your lance. We are heading for the tavern to join my husband, Sir Baldar, and you would be more than welcome there. Dame Caitilin curtsied, taking her brother, Darko's arm they went to join Baldar in the tavern

Ghostwriter
Ghostwriter looked at her husband at his words, and wondered if she should throttle him or hug him and instead smiled and squeezed his hand. Walking with Seamus, jostled a little at times, Ghostwriter could see the King ahead, some with him, the King talking. Ghostwriter glanced around her, the hustle and noise almost over powering, prospective jousters all getting ready, their groups of servants, etc milling about, carrying out the tasks they were instructed with.

Oops, she gasped as her foot slipped and caught, Ghostwriter grabbing Seamus' arm briefly till she was sure of her balance. This field will be a nightmare later Seamus.

Nearing the King now Ghostwriter released Seamus' hand, propriety taking the place of her using her husband as a protective prop, knowing Seamus would help if needed. She stepped to where the King was and curtsied, lifting her skirts slightly so they did not lay too long on the ground. Standing again Ghostwriter smiled.

Has Your Majesty been signed in yet?
Ghostwriter asked, smiling at King Faheud as she stood straight again, looking round. Seamus here has said he is willing to squire for you if you wish it. If there is anything I may do... the Princess Ghostwriter bowed her head to the King, realising there was little she could do, that everything would have been taken care of by now.

Destini
A woman's figure, cloaked in black, stood solumnly -- stoically -- beneath the banner of the King that waved in the cool, December breeze. Her eyes were shadowed as she watched King Faheud announce to one of England's Lords that He was intent upon the joust. She was ill at ease with His Majesty's intention. There were a myriad of possibilites for failure. But, in the end, it was His choice.

King Faheud was speaking with the Princess now. Destini saw her chance and approached the King. "Majesty, Princess," she greeted with an appropriately low curtsey to each. "My Lord King, I come to Ye bearin' an attempt -- in all probability futile an' useless -- to prevent ye from competin' in this joust." She looked at King Faheud seriously as one who has known the Other for years. Before He was King, He was Count. Before He was Count, He was Cardinal -- and she had served Him even then. "I admire an' respect what Ye are tryin' to do, but since Ye are One whom has duties beyond the pale o' this contest, I will ask Ye to reconsider, Sire."

Even as she spoke the words, the corners of her mouth twitched upwards with amusement. "Still, knowin' Ye as I do, I expect Yer Majesty has already considered, reconsidered, an' determined Yer course o' action." She doubted He would back down from His intent, but still she felt it needful to voice her opinion in this case.

Her sparkling gaze watched Him steadily with great respect and barely-shielded concern from beneath the black hood of her traveling cloak.

When the massive white horse turned onto the road that lead to the jousting arena it began to prance. The beast's head was held high and each step saw the leg raise to a horizontal at the knee. Hamish said to the lovely Lady Penelope_Rose " what we do now is sit up straight and put on a face of bored charm. I want to make an impression on Sir Plotnik. " Hamish climbed down from the horse, tied his purple and whiite penant to the end of his gleaming yew-wood jousting lance. He attached a white and a purple feather to the top of his helmet.

Hamish re-mounted the horse, gave Lady Penelope_rose a big squeeze, positioned the lance vertically so the pennant would fly in the breeze and kicked the horse to begin the proud walk to the arena.

Ken was walking when he he saw a man approach him it was Thomas, he smiled.

"Greetings, Thomas how are ye this fine day" he said. "Aye i figured why not its been a good while since i lasted jousted" he said. "Tis a good way to keep up my skills." he said as Thomas pointed over to a group of people asking who they might be.Ken has seen the Kings banners as he was leaving the sign up desk. "From the looks of the banners tis be the King and Princess Ghost" he said. I was going to go over and say hello, but from what you can see there are so many folks there now, i figured i would allow the king some time to settle in before going over" he said. "Though from the looks of it he might be here to Joust, this will make things very interesting." he said hoping he was not the one to draw against the King."As for the Schedule i am unsure im sure they will be drawing names here soon." he said

Barnaby
Barnaby stood and watched with amusement as his wife registered, noting especially the clerk's reaction to the news that she would be jousting. He chuckled softly and smiled when she spoke of her Coat of Arms. When the man's eyebrows raised and a blank expression passed over his face momentarily, his smile broadened into a grin. It should be most interesting to see the look on their faces, he thought to himself as he waited his turn to register.

When she stepped aside, he stepped forward.

"Name?"

"Barnaby Braeden de Holland, Earl of Pembroke, Viscount of Mansfield, Lord Warden of Sherwood Forest, Knight Companion of the Order of the Garter, Knight of the Crown and recipient of the Grand Cross of the Order of the English Lion." He pulled a sheet of parchment out depicting his personal Coat of Arms as well and held it out to the clerk.

"For whom shall you ride?"

Barnaby looked over to his wife and smiled softly before speaking softly "Her cause and mine are one, my good man."

Stepping back, he stood next to his wife and waited for the other two members of their foursome to present themselves, noting that a line was beginning to form containing far more than the 8 total he was expecting to see. He recognized the Banner of the King, among a few others and wondered if he'd be jousting or not.

He raised a eyebrow when he heard that the king might actually be in the competition. The king of England actually jousting in a tournament with some lords and knights and a simple citzen of Hastings. Although this caused to smile thinking that it was not everyday that a simple everyday person might get to joust against the king himself. Kenrich snapped him out of his thoughts as he continued to speak as he nodded.

Well I wouldn't mind being one to joust against his royal highness. I think it would be quite intresting indeed although I doubt my skill is anywhere near his, I think it would be interesting to go against him. After all without his title he is just a man in armor like the rest of us right?

Well I will let you get prepared for the competition my friend, I would not want to hinder you in these festivites. I just wanted to come over and wish you good luck and make sure you were all settled in. Thomas said as he turned to leave his friend going to where the crowd was gathering. He wanted to see if any of his competition would be meeting the king.

As my friend and mount, drawers near to the arena I whisper to the Lady Penelope-Rose who is sat in front of me, I have one arm around her to steady her on the horse. I could say that I know that she is relatively new to horse-riding and so needs my arm to steady her, there is another more visceral reason to have my arm around her, I want to touch her and be in contact. I feel almost as though to let her go would be to allow her to disappear in a puff of golden powder.

I whisper to her " who is Sir Plotnik?" When she has pointed out the man I use my knees to nudge Aristotle over to the man. When the horse comes before the man the beast lowers it's head and drops it's right leg in what is a pretty good approximation of a bow. Years of training and allowing Aristotle to have his head have paid off.

I speak to Lord Plotnik " Hamish O'Ranald, Squire to Knight Castellan of the Knights Of The Realm, Dame Ghostwriter Rood. I wish to register my entry into the tournament and dedicate my service here to the star of the Heavens, Lady Penelope_Rose!"

I wait for Sir Plotnik's acknowlwedgement.
