(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

"Ye have come a long way indeed, sire. Haven't we all. Might I suggest that ye and yer Queen go arm in arm down yon gangplank and I'll make sure she doesn't tear her dress on anything."

Saira is mindful of the fact that Cullan has face to save, but can see he is beginning to favour his leg, and arm-in-arm with his new bride is a good way of getting out of it. She scanned the gangplank for treacherous splinters while she replied to Aggnes, puffing her cheeks out in mock-disdain at an AWESOME missionary forgetting the cake.

"The music, tea and cakes part of it sounds good, though. I wonder if they'll serve that on board the barge? I ordered tea, but forgot the cakes."

"Forgot the cake? But ye are AWESOME! Ah, never mind. I suppose I can let ye off seeing as ye are a newlywed with yer head in the clouds. There's always some of the Chelsea buns if there are any left..."

Before joining the rest of the bride's maids Jessa gave her brother and husband a hug, adding a kiss as well to her husband's cheek. For some reason the sanctity of the ceremony made her feel that a kiss on the lips at the moment just wasn't right. She quickly whispered to her husband . Lady Lavea informed me we are to help the queen to the barge if she so requires and from there we are off to the celebration yet I am unsure if we are to join them on the barge or just see that the queen is safely on it. Please just you and Kel head to the celebration and I will see you there as soon as I am able.I love you my darling and will see you soon.

She smiled to them both and hurried her way in a lady like manner to join the rest of the bride's maids.

He got to the barge and was piped on. Checking quickly to make sure that all was ready, including the rowers, he smiled and nodded.

Turning to the rowers and linesmen, his instructions were simple. Look sharp, ye tars. Ye be sailin' wit' th' King an' Queen o' yer country.

In truth, the only concern he had was when they had to pass under London Bridge. The current was with him so making the trip would otherwise be smooth. The only other thing he wasn't sure of was how many of the party would be joining them. He knew the King and Queen, but he had little idea who else besides some of the Royal Guards.

Tali lingered back a bit before pulling Hazel with him into the crowd that was flowing out of the church. He'd seen the feast hall before, and had gone to discuss what could be played during, so he knew where he was going. "Come on, Hazel! We need to get to the feast. I'm not playing right away, but I want to be able to set up and hear what others are playing, so I don't repeat anything!" Grinning at his 'sister', the bard tugged her out of the crowd and down the streets toward where the feast would take place.

Alfred made his way outside and made sure that he reclaimed his sword and quarterstaff. The quarterstaff was on the ground, both hands covering the top in a way that he seemed deep on thought. Indeed, he was considering the feast that was rapidly approaching. He had another tale to tell, and he shut his eyes in thought.

So many years on the road, and here he was, one of the many who welcomed in the new King and Queen. Never in a million years did he think that he would be in London performing as he did. He could think of a couple of other people who would be amazed as well. He thought that the Winter Ball was a pressure cooker for his talents. Certainly, this event seemed far more daunting than the previously mentioned one.

His eyes opened and he glanced around, searching. He only had one person to look out for, and he knew if he just looked hard enough... He'd find them. Alfred settled his trained eyes and began to seek the person out.

Amethise
After ensuring that her peeress robes and coronet had been safely packed away in their storage chest, ready to be collected for the trip home to Mercia, Amethise followed as everyone began filing out of the Abbey for the next stage of the celebrations. She turned to Galrador with a smile. "My carriage is waiting close by, and you are most welcome to join me for the journey to the Tower for the feast, if you wish." Chuckling, she added, "After this morning's parade, I believe I have already done quite enough walking for one day!"

I wonder if we can beat the barge? he asks laughing. No no... much too dangerous on the crowded streets of London this day.

Really? You know we don't deserve such attention from you Kalens so it is very much appreciated!

She said while joining Kalens and Miki onto the Carriage.

We should try anyways.

She says laughing at the question.

I think you haven't introduced us to this Lady here. And if you have then I apologise for being so bad with names and faces.

Kalens laughed, Please... yourself and Laird Applus have not only done great work in Scotland towards peaceful resolution... but have spearheaded improved relations between Scotland and England... positive relations diplomatically that haven't been seen since my father's day.
Once settled in and on the way, Kalens introduced Miki.
This is Miki. From Muscovy. Miki's family was allies of the Hohenzollerns back in the days of Prusse.
Miki held both hands out, one to each and said, A pleasure to meet you both. The accent was deeply rich with Eastern European tone. I haven't been in London lately. Kalens sent me to Greystoke for the spring to look over the estates there, of course I had to come back for the coronation.

Kalens nodded, Yes, truly a Jah sent treasure to assist me in various matters that I am unable to attend to personally.
The carriage came to a stop having arrived at the outer gates of the Tower then trundled through them after the guards gave permission. Soon after the carriage stopped once again to let out the passengers at the place of feasting and reception.

Cullan
Cullan raised an eyebrow to Saira"lass..." he growled, leading his wife "...th' money I spent on it, I'm barely lettin' 'er wear it." slowly they ascended, him keeping his gaze on their feet - both to keep his steps straight, and to keep from stepping on her dress.

It wasn't that bad, and with such a wide craft, it didn't sway too much.
"Admiral!" he bellowed. "I put myself in yer capable hands."

Aggnes.holifard
Aggnes looked back at the little crowd of bridesmaids in posh frocks gathered at the gangplank.

"Ladies, if you'd prefer to join your families and stay on dry land, that's fine. Anyone who was feeling queasy earlier should probably avoid the risk of seasickness, at least. If you want to join us, though, there's plenty of room."

Taarna
Standing with Kazzia and the others, Taarna raised her eyebrows a bit at the Queen's words. Perhaps she was referring to her eating candied ginger earlier? Oh, pfft! Taarna had been on ships twice now, and had not had the sickness from walking on a moving ship. She doubted that she would have a problem now. Besides, her entire family, what there was of it, was at Powis Castle, getting ready for her wedding next week - she really had no other way to get to the feast! So she scrambled aboard with the rest of the wedding party, confident that if - IF - she did get nauseous, she knew that she was armed with plenty of candied ginger!

Saira grinned and hopped onto the barge. Her, walk?

She nods a greeting, sailor to sailor, to the lads at the oars. "Row hearty, lads. I'll make sure there's ale at the other end for ye - although I see Rowan Ashenheart there and he will have made provision, I am sure of it."

Being a weaver and needing her hands relatively free of calluses she prefers sailing to rowing. So she takes a position where she can see, hand on her cutlass, and scans the banks for trouble, finding nothing obvious; but then again, the crowds make finding trouble nigh on impossible. In the end she shrugs and resolves to cross that bridge if she finds it. She's assuming that if any Royal Guard are coming with them they'll be the sort that don't get seasick.

Then she thinks for a moment. Aggnes is a good sailor, she knows, but she's not sure about Cullan, and leans over to whisper "D'ye need something to settle the stomach? It looks calm, though, today on the Thames, and I doubt we are going far."

Amerys
Amerys had gone forward with the other peers to swear her oath, first removing her sword and passing it to another of the Royal Guard before approaching the King, then retrieving it to take up her position again. Now she stood nearby, watchful as the newly-crowned King and Queen boarded the royal barge. Others would accompany them from this point - her part was done once they were safely aboard.
She glimpsed Rowan's bright hair as he moved about on deck, but with both of them on duty didn't try to attract his attention. She'd look forward to spending some time with him later on.

The King called out, "Admiral!" he bellowed. "I put myself in yer capable hands." And she knew they'd cast off soon.
Her eyes were still watchful of the crowds near the dock, but she sighed softly in anticipation of a comfortable bath and a change of clothes.

Kaz stopped by and grabbed up her weapons, quickly placing them in their sheaths, she'd taken them off out of respect for the sanctity of church, she wasn't leaving them off in open crowds. She followed behind Taarna grinning at her friends expression at the Queen's comment. Still when Taarna boarded so did Kaz, prepare to do so. Two peas in a pod they were. She walked to the gangplank and smiled up, "Permission to come aboard, Admiral?" She called, out of habit for the most part, respect for the other. As she passed Ame she squeezed her arm gently. "Love ya, lass, thanks for having my back. " She moved forward, ready to join the group with a grin on her face.

With the King and Queen leaving and the rest of the Abbey slowly emptying as well, he got up from his seat to make his way outside along the others. A little unsure as where to next, he was quickly 'saved' by Amethise's question. Pondering it for a second, he nodded back at her. If you don't mind, I'll gladly take you up on the offer. Now that the King is properly married ánd coronated, I'm sure he can take care of himself without his groomsmen for a short while. Chuckling a little, he continued. So please lead the way, I'll do my best to stay on your tail amongst this crowd.

On his way to board the Royal Barge, our large neighbor chances to spot Lady Kidwelly close by, and swerves in that direction for a moment. Passing near, he tries to catch the lady's eye, and in his finest spoilt-rotten tone deliberately whines Mooommmmyyy, can we eat yeeetttt?, just for that lady's annoyance and entertainment. That done, our large friend steps to the gangplank and bellows Admiral Mann, permission tae come aboard, sair?
