(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Jessa.jane
Having told Edward and Kel to go ahead Jessa as well decided it was best to join the rest on the barge. As she got closer she saw their friend Jamesthemad ahead of her .

James would you by chance have a steady arm to offer a lady? I am sure my husband would be greatly appreciative if you could help me make it to the barge without me stepping in the water first. She smiled glad to see him after such a long time.

Our friend looks quite surprised to be addressed, and turns his head with a an amiable smile. Nat'rally, M'Lady. Yer wish is ma command. Having spoke thusly, the young Captain gently offers one huge arm, and proceeds to carefully assist Lady Jessa in negotiating the gangplank. By th' by, well met, cousin. Tis good ta' see yer face again.

She tilted her head politely. Thank you kind sire. She took his arm and allowed him to escort her. I think we haven't seen you since the night Edward and I were wed. I hope life has been treating you well? She watched as she walked and eventually with his guide made it safely on board, finding a place on the barge to grasp for balance.

He saluted the King and Queen as the Boatswain piped them aboard. He smirked slightly at the King's words. He turned to the others ready and waiting to board and granted them all permission, smiling as they did, helping some of the ladies navigate the brow. He had a steward ready with ale and mead to drink, ready to attend to the King and Queen and their party.

As the Captain of the Guard came aboard, he muttered to him, London bridge be me only c'ncerrn. We'll be needin' t' make surre they stay 'neath th' can'py til we be clear.

He caught sight of Ame and gave her a smile and nod. He didn't want to wait to see her later, but they had their duties for the moment. When it appeared that everyone was on board, he gave the order to remove the brow and went to his place by the rudder. Smiling at his mate, Abel, the coxswain for this journey, he nodded.

Mist'rr Abel, cast off all lines, take us tae th' Toow'rr.

Aye Sir! Cast off all lines! Oarsmen, oars UP! The rowers raised their oars, ready to set them into the water and assist the current in getting the barge and its occupants down to the Tower. The lines were cast off, the longshoremen punting the barge clear of the quay as the rudder took them out towards the middle of the river. Once clear, Abel ordered the oarsmen in their strokes, watching for everything in the river that might pose a hazard. They moved smoothly past Westminster Palace towards the Tower. It was a pleasant transit towards London Bridge and the Tower just beyond it.

Kazzia gamely walked aboard, holding her skirts slightly raised and thanking her lucky stars that she'd modified every shoe she owned to help her keep a grip on the deck of any sailing vessel. She patted her hip to ensure her waiting dagger was still comfortable sheathed and then moved where she was to stand, back a bit from the rest, trying to see everything around them. She heard Rowan give the orders, and heard them echoed down the chain. She couldn't help but smile at the pull of the current beneath her, smooth sailing, would be this day. Stepping carefully she moved to where she could see them move away from the dock. People were milling about and she spotted a few she knew. The wind tugged at her skirt and she smiled. There was a reason most wore breeches sailing these days. She turned almost full circle, saluting Rowan as she did, and the back about. She'd never stood on the barge and wished to know as much of her surroundings as she could.

"Well, odd as it feels to sit down when aboard, I suppose we'd better get our dresses and robes out of the crew's way. I see a canopy, and seats - shall we?"

Cullan chuckled to Saira "much 'a my youth was spent a travelin', an' I've got mesself a medal fer naval bravery 'r..." he shrugged "...somethin'" he really didn't know why Molly had awarded him. He slept on a ship for a couple weeks. "no, lass. Ya keep yer eye on th' ladies." turning to his wife he nodded, smiling to her "aye, probably. Else we'll trip up th' Admiral an' get scolded." he snorted "We're jus' politicians, y'know. Hear 'e hates 'em"

"And if I carry on standing up, he'll remember I'm an able seaman in the REN and order me to row. I don't feel like rowing. As I was saying to some clerks earlier, today I have a day off."

It did help having someone to sort out the skirts, robes, and a chair that, while sturdy, weighed less than her clothes. The canopy was pleasantly shady, too - if there had been much of a breeze, she would have been glad of the heavy fur mantle, but as it was, it was getting quite warm.

"I see Rowan's provided ale, and mead, and if the page got here, there should be tea... yes, there is. Mead for the honeymoon..." She smiled. "The honeymoon we're not going to have time for."

She looked out along the length of the barge, and at the scenery. Impressive, from this angle. Which meant... she could probably trust them, but.... "Ladies," she said quietly, "I know the phrase is that all the nice girls love a sailor, and I know a uniform will make any one look good, but window shopping only, remember. Enjoy."

Come to think of it, the ladies probably weren't the only ones enjoying the view. Ah well, why not?

Following the direction his wife was looking, Cullan growled. "yer not th' only one wi' able seaman..." She would get the pun, he knew. One of the rowers had hair midway down his back, dark, his skin delightfully tanned and, he could guess, a strong broad back beneath the linen shirt he wore. He growled softly to himself, thoroughly appreciating the view. Unfortunately, though, it was his wedding day, and it would be immoral to wander...even for him."aye girls. Keep yer anchors raised..."

Kalens laughed, Please... yourself and Laird Applus have not only done great work in Scotland towards peaceful resolution... but have spearheaded improved relations between Scotland and England... positive relations diplomatically that haven't been seen since my father's day.
Once settled in and on the way, Kalens introduced Miki.
This is Miki. From Muscovy. Miki's family was allies of the Hohenzollerns back in the days of Prusse.
Miki held both hands out, one to each and said, A pleasure to meet you both. The accent was deeply rich with Eastern European tone. I haven't been in London lately. Kalens sent me to Greystoke for the spring to look over the estates there, of course I had to come back for the coronation.

Kalens nodded, Yes, truly a Jah sent treasure to assist me in various matters that I am unable to attend to personally.
The carriage came to a stop having arrived at the outer gates of the Tower then trundled through them after the guards gave permission. Soon after the carriage stopped once again to let out the passengers at the place of feasting and reception.

Nice to meet you Miki. And you exagerate Lord Kalens, we are just normal people from Galloway doing our jobs the best we can I guess.

Once they came to a stop she said.

Are we already here? Good.

She went down the carriage folowed by Lord Applus. And waited for Kalens and Miki.

Applus godmodded with permission.

Drestakil rose from his seat and moved forward in the line of nobles reaffirming their oaths to the new King. With that done, Drest smiled and thought to himself, 'I hope King Cullan has an easier time of it than some of his predecessors.'

He lost sight of Cornish and Kristin and decided to step outside and wait for them. He planned to find out if they were staying in London for awhile or going right back to Salisbury.

*i watched as Drestakil got up and started following the procession of nobles... grabbing my barrel, and giving Kristin a kiss on the cheek*

"Come my love, its time we left also... the king has already left, and i'm presuming has made his way to the royal barge.. we shall re-affirm our oaths as soon as i've found out what is going on"

*slowly i followed, i saw Dres in the distance he had pulled slightly to one side outside the abbey*

"Dres, penny for your thoughts my friend?"

Kaz took a seat near the outside of the canopy so that she could move more freely, and patted the one next to her. Come on ladies, we've a lovely view, let's sit and look. She kicked her feet slightly, making her dress flutter a bit. She glanced up at Taarna and then patted the seat again, come on lass! Sit with me! She called laughing. If we don't get out of the way we might get tied to a chair.

Still holding tight to her husband, Krissy hurried her steps to keep up with him. She pointed with her free arm.
Cornish, look, there's Drestakil right over there!
She noticed then that they were already heading in that direction.
Oh, you saw him too, didn't you?
She giggled and moved right along with him until they stopped next to Drest.

When the ceremony ended and both King Cullan and Queen Aggnes made their safe departure from the Abbey, Sythe joined soon behind as a Royal Guard and saw them safely aboard the boat. When the oars were raised he prepared to make his way down to where they would once again be landing as the celebrations continued for the feast.

Angel made her way outside of the abbey to send off the new king and queen She noticed that most of the congregation seemed to be heading their separate ways. She knew that Edwardus and she would need to get back to the home they were staying at so that they could change into something more suitable for the feast. She quickly made her way over to one of the ferries, seeking passage across the channel.

" How much do we owe ye lad?" Angel asked to a young man about her age.
